Re: Rural areas satellite is the way to go Definitely agree with you there. When I first got 2-way satellite in 2001 after having only dialup here for a year after coming from an urban area with cable, satellite was like having a lifeline to the world again. There's so much that you simply can't do with dialup or that is just excruciatingly slow to accomplish (yes, you could say the same thing about low latency broadband vs. satellite, but satellite definitely expands upon what you can do on dialup by a good margin.)
