[optical] Nvidia Sentinel Message

I installed my Geforce 8500GT 512MB card 2 months ago, everything ran fine, until 2 days ago when I started getting this message. Now i cant do anything in 3D as Nvidia has lowered the card settings to prevent any damage. Ive read all the forums through google, tried all different drivers....does anyone have any suggestions?

Nvidia Sentinel Message

What is the message ? Is that all it says ?
From looking into the " Nvidia Sentinel Message" It has to do with a power to the card problem .

Is this a main company computer or one you built ?

What is the size of your PSU ( power supply unit )?

Are you over clocked or do you ?

400 watt minimum for the card to operate within proper tolerances for long periods of time.

A minimum 300W system power supply
Is what it says on the spec of the card.
And as for working for the past few months . As with most things you can over load , overclock , overwork ( me included ). For short periods of time and sometimes even long periods .

And as yuutomo said a 400w PSU would be suggested.

Sounds like the card went bad. Time to contact the manufacturer.

Also, as the problem may be driver related, have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling the NVIDIA graphic drivers?

What Operating System and version of NVIDIA graphic drivers are you using?

Have you recently updated the NVIDIA graphic drivers?
