The LLC seems to be the easiest to acquire and administer for a sole proprietor.<br><br>That's a good point about doing it yourself.I will check the PA site first. I guess I've been trained to assume government=complicated :D<br><br>That's interesting about the F500 companies. I don't expect I'll be dealing with any of them. In Indiana it is a single piece of paper and a $90 fee, and yet there are companies that charge hundreds of dollars in addition to the state fee to fill out this single piece of paper and mail it in for you. There wasn't any significant cost difference in forming the S-corp over a C-corp or LLC.  There were tax benefits to the S-corp over the C-corp.<br><br>At one point I used &raquo;<A HREF="http://www.bizfilings.com/" >www.bizfilings.com/</A> as a registered agent, when I had relocated out of state and did not want to move my corporate registration.  I found their billing practices to be abusive after canceling their service.  I notified them in writing that I was canceling their services and they turned the account over to a collection agency because I didn't pay the renewal.]]></description>

Did not have inventory or debts so bankruptcy was not an issue. No employees. <br><br>I was operating out of my home so had rider for casual business use added. That way if a salesman/customer broke their leg I was protected.<br><br>If it stayed viable I would have eventually done the paperwork to LLC. <br><br>/tom ]]></description>
