For Linux support I've had great luck with Samsung Printers and Epson scanners...

Epson scanners generally offer the choices of open source and proprietary drivers...

OK I'll admit it.... Keys laid back (You ever want to know about the Keys come to the SE forum... I'll save you lots of time & BS) any particular model(s) suggestions in mind?

Of those models I personally own an Epson Perfection 1260 but I wouldn't hold my breath trying to find that particular model these days. Most likely discontinued...

Corss-referencing here »www.pricewatch.com/brands/scanne···on-1.htm the Perfection 4490 is listed as both available and completely supported...

My advice would be to snap one up before they're completely discontinued...

Whoops! that's the 4990 not the 4490 that's completely supported...

Anyway, cross reference the two pages and you're sure to find something that works for ya.
