| Cisco Access Point connection question
Need some help with the output from the 'sho dot11 associations' command on a cisco aironet AP. Here's what I get:
abc123#sho dot11 associations
802.11 Client Stations on Dot11Radio0:
SSID [123abc] :
IP address Device Name Parent State 10.x.x.65 ccx-client - self Assoc 10.x.x.225 ccx-client - self Assoc 10.x.x.239 4800-radio abc123 self Assoc 10.x.x.127 4800-radio abc123 self Assoc 10.x.x.74 ccx-client - self Assoc 10.x.x.82 ccx-client D9B04RB1 self Assoc 10.x.x.125 ccx-client - self Assoc 10.x.x.84 unknown - self Assoc 10.x.x.244 unknown - self Assoc 10.x.x.237 unknown - self Assoc 0.0.0.0 unknown - self Assoc 10.x.x.238 ccx-client - self Assoc 10.x.x.228 ccx-client D10BLMG1 self Assoc
These are all clients connected to the same AP. One of the clients is complaining of problems accessing the internet. All the MAC's have been removed, but they were all different from each other. The clients should all connect either via a Wireless card on their cpu, or they have a wireless bridge we lend them if their cpu doesn't have a wireless card.
I believe the 'ccx-client' refers to Cisco Compatible Extensions...??? My questions, why do the 'Device' and 'Name' differ from one IP to the next? Shouldn't they all pretty much be getting the same thing under those columns? Also the entry w/0.0.0.0 for IP, is this someone that just cannot get connected (no this isn't the IP of the client having problems)...???
TIA |
