| [memory] Checking Memory (and PSU)
With a recent amount of video-car problems I've been having, a few have recommended that I check out my memory to make sure a module is not faulty--how could I go about doing this?
Also, in the same breath, they recommended checking out my PSU--I'm fairly sure it's fine, but I just want to be 100% positive on this matter.
I hate to RMA a graphics card a second time, only to find out I really need to RMA my PSU or a memory stick (or two). -- "True Patriotism is more closely linked with dissent than it is to conformity and a blind desire for safety and security...I accept the definition of patriotism as that effort to resist abusive state power." -Ron Paul |

| Download the memtest .iso file and burn it to a CD, boot off the CD and let it run the test - you should let it run for multiple passes or overnite.

As for the powersupply, the only real test is to try another one if you have one available. |

I treied out Memtest 3.4a (floppy), but it had a few issues; I'll have to try it again later on. |

I personally don't trust anything other than Memtest for my trouble shooting. |

| I just tested with Microsoft's, and I used Memtest (made a bootable floppy) to check the memory....both came up negative, so that's good...now...is there any way to test a PSU unit without taking one out and putting another one it? the only thing I could thing of would be a Volt Meter. -- "True Patriotism is more closely linked with dissent than it is to conformity and a blind desire for safety and security...I accept the definition of patriotism as that effort to resist abusive state power." -Ron Paul |

| For those without a volt meter or a desire to deal with the intricacies, there's something like this: »www.antec.com/us/productDetails.···ID=77203 »www.google.com/search?q=Antec+AT···irefox-a
I presume you let memtest86+ run for several iterations/hours? If not, do so. Often times a flaky memory module will pass a single iteration, but start to fail after getting exercised for a while.... |

| I only ran it once, since it ran for 6 times with Windows version; either way, I have a block of time that I'll be able to run it for quite a while with. -- "True Patriotism is more closely linked with dissent than it is to conformity and a blind desire for safety and security...I accept the definition of patriotism as that effort to resist abusive state power." -Ron Paul |
