| D-Link 524 and SMC EZ Connect N
My D-Link wireless 802.11 G. router is in the garage and doesn't pick up wireless signals very well through the house even though I passed wires and bought a 7db antenna that I put higher in the house. I have since turned off the wireless option on the D-Link.
I would like to install the SMC EZ Connect N Access Point and let it manage all the wireless activities in the house allowing visiting friends to log on.
I Called SMC tech support in a frustrating two hour call from hell with somebody in India who I could barely understand and who knew even less than me ( hard to believe). At the end she passed the buck and said that I needed to have a router with WDS in order to use one of the units as a repeater, I assume she meant the D-Link ...
Isn't there a simpler way where the D-Link would act as the gateway and the SMC connect just act a giant antenna? |
