[request] Allow for a bit larger Avatars

That's right, maybe 80x80 or 90x90.

Come on!

I have 100x100 at other sites. I don't use one here or choose to see them as they are too small and not centered properly. I would have one if it could be larger.

What I would like to see done away with is the horrible gigantic signature in garish colors that some use here. I see signatures in the same size as all other text because I cannot read tiny text because of aging eyes so I have a minimum font size that is large and I have to endure the signatures in my face in large garish fonts.

I don't understand the desire for tiny avatars here but gigantic signatures in garish colors is ok. If the signatures were part of I See People then I could just turn them off.

Object. They are big enough as they are. Larger == slower page load.

I think we object this request at least twice a year.

OK, I'll give one. I like reading what people have to say. I don't like seeing bigger and bigger pictures crowding out what they say.

my justification:

Some avatars are too small to even recognize what they are. Just slightly bigger wouldn't hurt. Im not asking for 300x300

This issue comes up often enough, that I think the site should set the max size to 0x0 and be done with it

I hear-by OBJECT of this preposterous heresy!

But seriously, I hate those big avatars that some sites' forums have. So let not make this site ugly.

Honestly, and I'm not trying to be a pain in the ass here, but I think the icons on this site are the perfect compromise between a little humor/creativity and readability.

I've seen other sites with double the icon size and it just takes away from the important content.

Object! Just because I feel like it.

This argument comes up every so many months and the result stays the same. Big avatars just detract from the content of the posting! They're not supposed to be "objects d'art", with fine detail and perfect composition and balance.

Maybe we should revert back to 40x40!

I guess we'll just have to live without the privilege of seeing your avatar...
