| Replacement for "Statbar" Application
Hey everyone,
Does anyone have any application like StatBar or Winbar that they use for XP? I used to use WinBar, and StatBar has been causing some issues lately.
I was wondering if there was an application out there that was may be updated a little more frequently that people used here. I'm used to using the quick "one-touch" functions of StatBar, such as quick sound mute, throughput, time, etc.
Thanks

| reply to MagMan said by MagMan :What issues are you having with StatBar may I ask? Sure. Well, it's the oddest thing. I have my laptop, it's about 3 years old. I had been using Statbar with little or no problems (mostly) for 2 of those 3 years. This Sunday, I had some free time and after countless installations and removals of programs on this laptop, I decided to do a Windows XP reinstallation. It's the first one on this laptop since I got it from Dell. Installed all of my necessary programs, StatBar being one of them.
Since I installed StatBar on Sunday, all I have is lockups and program hangs. I booted to safe mode to get into the event viewer, and I have like 50 instances since Sunday where Statbar.exe has hung and didn't start on boot (under 'applications'). I removed StatBar earlier today and everything has been fine. -- "Honesty may be the best policy, but it's important to remember that apparently, by elimination, dishonesty is the second-best policy." - George Carlin

I had some work to do today and I needed a working computer. This weekend, I will retry StatBar, but in the meantime, I just though I'd check to see what is out there since the last time I looked. The last time I looked was about 2 years ago when I dropped WinBar for StatBar. -- "Honesty may be the best policy, but it's important to remember that apparently, by elimination, dishonesty is the second-best policy." - George Carlin

To me they're almost the same from the looks & funtionality...
In fact I changed from Statbar to Winbar because Winbar behaves better on double monitor setup. |

| Yeah, that's the one. I had used that for a while, but IIRC, it was handling something visually on the screen in a way I didn't like, and StarBar handled it better.
I'll probably wind up trying WinBar and StatBar again, as well as what was mentioned in this thread, before I settle on one of them. -- "Honesty may be the best policy, but it's important to remember that apparently, by elimination, dishonesty is the second-best policy." - George Carlin
