laptop network settings for wireless

I have a laptop that is setup to work on my home network. I have a static IP and the DNS settings hard coded on the laptop. It works fine at home, no issues.

My wife took the laptop to a workshop where they have a wireless network. She was able to see the network and connect to it, but when she try's to use a browser, she cannot get anything to come up.

Is the problem that i have the static IP set on the laptop?

The OC		 Yes.

Set it up for Obtain IP automatically for home & away, set up two profiles. Any reason you need to hard code it for home?
