Why do you want to turn it on? In addition to being a terrible pain in the arse to manage the list of valid MAC addresses, it is also relatively easy for an intruder to sniff out the MAC addresses on your network and then to spoof them. WPA encryption is far more secure and a lot easier to manage.

ColonelPanic join:2007-03-06 Beverly Hills, CA	Agreed , Like Nanook said some models will be lacking MAC address filtering (due to shipped firmware revision on that particular model). If your gateway is running 5.29.x I would recommend setting up WPA2 authentication with AES encryption as long as your adapters and OS support it.
