| Ebay studio setup. Anyone ever get one? Heyall,
I recently bought a studio lighting and background setup. One of those 400$ ones with 3 strobes and the softboxes and gels and backdrops and such. (Pretty much an all-in-one studio in a box)
The company who markets the strobes is Aikiphoto and they are 150ws units. (Not overly powerful no)
My main question is has anyone heard of this company or bought any of these rigs (There's a few different ones on ebay but basically all the same equipment)
I would imagine you get what you paid for with this, but it's worth a stab considering finances for me is a really tight thing.
Anyone try them? | |

| Hehehe yep it's very true. Kinda late for sure. I'm pretty convinced they'll be decent for the usage I'll put them through. When I want something high caliber I'll know to get something bigger. I'm not expecting a big punch with these. But would hope to hear some feedback while I'm chewing my nails waiting for them to get here. | |

| I have no experience with this and was at one time thinking about doing it, I would like to know what you think of it once you get the gear and use it a little. I've actually gone the Strobist route and peiced a studio together. Granted it's not a cheap process either but I like the results that I got from my set up. Used for the first time this weekend. | |

| Well I have to say I'm rather impressed with what I got.
I'll try and get some pics online once I get the hang of it all.
Pros - You get a lot of stuff, and in the end the accessories themselves are worth the cost of the package. - Everything worked as said, no "surprises" really to speak of. Only thing I didn't like was that the lights "Come with all the syncro cables to link up" but in the case of this kit they don't link up to themselves. They have the cables yes, but don't have anything to plug them into as a hub/trigger. So everything works of the slave sensors (eew)
Cons - Grey background is CHEAP. And I mean it's like paper. I put a hole in it with my finger taking it out of the packaging. It's similar to those paper paint suits. Black and white BGs though are just fine. -Strobe wiring issue above. -Strobe using slave sensors can't be turned off. So even if using sync cable, anyone else so much as blinks in the room and they go off (Very sensitive)
But again, for the price... It works and works well so far. If you can live with the functional oddities, it's a great starter kit. | |
