Re: [Vista] Windows Defender scan delta interval Why not schedule a weekly scan or just turn off the real-time protection if the computer is used infrequently. I have three computers that have Defender scheduled for weekly scans and two others with real-time protection turned off. I'm not bothered by nag screens on any of the five machines.
Start > All Programs > Windows Defender > Tools > Options
At the top is your scan schedule options. If you scroll further down the screen you'll see your real-time protection options.
