Be prepared for a long grind. Might be quicker to re-roll sadly. -- Cædite eos. Novit enim Dominus qui sunt eius. |

| My first real 70 was a Holy Pally. I made the mistake of going Scyer instead of Aldor. I looked into switching over but it would take forever to do. Like what digital said, just reroll a new toon |

| reply to Alexoi It's easier to go from Scryer to Aldor than the other way around. The spiders needed for Aldor drop netherweb that always sold well and allowed you to purchase more of the parts you needed. The drops for Scryer rep come from beasts with no consistent item for resale. -- I'd take the time to insult your intelligence, but you probably wouldn't get it. |

Yes it is....the shoulder enchants were developed for healers more than anything...I think the shoulder enchant gives 22 bonus healing, while the scryer one is 13 spell critical strike rating. I don't remember the Exalted status stuff though. |

I am not sure about holy paly but there is some theorycrafting on shoulder enchant and SSO exalted rep proc for both sides (i read up on hunter and warlock) and DPS difference is soo marginal, that switching from 1 side to other should not even cross your mind - I do not think it would be any different for otherclasses; such healing classes or tanking classes. |

| I would only consider doing it if you have NOTHING left to do in the game however, if you must - store up all the materials you need and do it all at once. It's a huge waste of gold IMHO. |

| reply to Alexoi I wasn't quite as far into friendly with Aldor as you are when I switched and it took about 1500 kills of the basilisks to get. If you're lucky and are a cook/skinner (even luckier if you're both) you can cook the basilisk meat and sell the skinner leather. Of course skinning 1500+ mobs will add more time, but hey it's money! -- "I am Jack's utter lack of surprise." |

Didn't take me too long, plus I used the AH.
It wasn't bad, but then again I am a rep grinder. -- Whats smells like blue? |

Well I did it about a year ago when the trinkets and gear bought off the rep vendors were still considered good. Ok 4 months ago, this may not have been a totally insane thing to do... now though it absolutley is. With WotLK it wont matter because there will be better stuff available. Even prior to WotLK the difference is slim to none. You could easily make up the difference by spending the same amount of time grinding gold to get better enchants, gems, pots, gear etc. Its simply not a good or fun way to spend your time in game.

| reply to Alexoi I have to agree. I used to think being Scryer was better for my hunter because the shoulder enchant was slightly better (more crit). As the shoulder enchant was the only thing that has any value after you start raiding (except for the resistance patterns), it wasn't until I heard about the pendant you could get from SSO that I knew I'd made a mistake.
This thing procs so often if you're Aldor (as opposed to never if you're Scryer now that they've fixed the sheep/trap breaking trick) that it actually became more valuable than drops from T5 raids.
However the grind from hated -> exalted was far too much, even back then. If I wanted I could have easily used dailies to buy my way back, probably done it in a couple weeks at most, but even 4 months ago the expansion seemed too close to even consider this.
And for what? More attack power? Nice, but as I knew I was probably about to quit raiding and even if I wasn't, I would almost certainly replace the pendant with something else from a T6 raid, spending 2-4K gold to go from Scryer to Aldor is insane. -- If people taste like bacon, doesn't it follow that bacon tastes like people? |
