| WAP11 connected to WRT43G
I have a WRT54G connected to the Internet (over ADLS) and it services my home PCs and wireless laptop. Now I want to connect a remote PC using my old WAP11 V1.1 to the network. I configured the WAP11 as an Access Point Client, pointing to the WRT54G MAC address. I still cant ping the WRT54G from the remote PC (configured with static IP). I dont have any MAC filtering or security protocol on any device.
Am I missing something?

| I have used a WAP11 as AP with WET11 bridge, but not the WAP11 as client or bridge itself.
But I seem to remember that if you connected 2 WAP11's together, I believe you were supposed to use the ethernet MAC of the other device instead of wireless MAC (which would be too easy to discover). So which MAC of the WRT54G are you using on WAP11 setting (assuming wireless security settings are matched)? |

Am I missing something? Sadly, from the PDF: (page 18 of the manual, page 13 of the PDF) Note: For all modes of operation EXCEPT Access Point, the remote access point must be a second Linksys Wireless-B Access Point(WAP11). The Access Point will not communicate with any other kind of remote access point.
So the WAP11 can be used as a wireless bridge, but only with another WAP11, not a WRT54G. -- I tried to remain child-like, all I achieved was childish. |

@bezeqint.net | I managed to pull it off! The missing part was to set both devices on the same channel. So the final setting is: WAP11 - set as Access Point Client with MAC address of the WRT54G wireless MAC. Same channel and SSID on both. |
