| reply to TJ19971 I prefer the colour in this case because (as stated before) there's no sky detail and it needs the colour to "say" what it is. What really bothers me about both, though, is the person walking out of frame on the left and I think that they should be cropped out. By doing that the little extraneous piece of forest on the left would also be removed making for, in my opinion, a much more pleasing shot.

| reply to TJ19971 Croup out the guy on the left and the modern looking car, and I think the black and white would look great. With the same editing the color would as well, but from the looks of it this building has historical significance so the B&W would make it have a nostalgic feel. -- "I am Jack's utter lack of surprise." |

| reply to TJ19971 Thank you all for your input. I came up with a couple alternate edits based on everyone's feedback. I brought back the sky to a more natural state and did some cropping etc. I like these better then my original edits. I did do a bit more of a sepia feel to the black and white as well. Your thoughts? Ideas? -- Don't bother me. I'm living happily ever after. |

| I think that the colour one has improved quite a bit with the recent edits - nice work.
Suggestions for the monochrome one: * Change your "sepia" tone to be closer to the brick colour in the original * Add some more contrast to the sky. The blue and white are very distinguishable in the colour version but not so much in the B/W
I'm liking where you're going with these! |

| reply to TJ19971 I like where you've taken both colored and not. I love the feel of the brick texture in both. That said, either of the edited images works well. I do think that the monochrome one can take a little of the sepia and more tone, more like what Kringle says. |

| maybe I should calibrate my monitor. When I look at the colored one it looks like it is over sharp or something. the edges to me look like they glow. And when I look that the Awning on the side the strips seem to merge almost like looking at one of those picture puzzles with alternating black and white lines that seem to move depending on how you look at them
Guess its time I invest in a puck |

I don't believe it is your monitor, in all the editing the images did get oversharpened. I actually scrapped these, wend back to the original image and started from scratch.
Thanks to all for the input.
Special thanks to mhhack for the IM.
