it takes me a while but I think I got it now!

The double natting was/is my issue. There are multiplayer online games that he has trouble with and I'm trying to get down to the simplest config. Letting the modem do the work and having the Linksys as a switch is what I was considering and seeing that it won't trash the TA settings I'll give it a go and see if it helps.

Thanx for your patience! LOL, I'd like to have been a fly on the wall listening to your vocalizations after reading each of my responses
