Building a new system - your thoughts?

I plan to build a new system and here is the hardware I am looking at.

EVGA 132-CK-NF78-A1 LGA 775 NVIDIA nForce 780i SLI ATX Motherboard

Intel Core 2 Duo E8500 Wolfdale 3.16GHz LGA 775 65W Dual-Core Processor

2X CORSAIR 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) TWIN2X4096-6400C5

ZALMAN CNPS9500 AT 2 Ball CPU

2X BFG Tech BFGEGTX2801024OCXE GeForce GTX 280 1GB 512-bit GDDR3 - SLI

2X Western Digital VelociRaptor WD3000GLFS 300GB 10000 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s

3X SAMSUNG Spinpoint F1 HD103UJ 1TB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s - Storage in Raid 5

SILVERSTONE ST1200 1200W ATX12V / EPS12V Power Supply

LIAN LI PC-P80 Black Aluminum ATX Full Tower Computer Case

Microsoft Windows Vista 64-Bit Ultimate for System Builders DVD - OEM

I have always used XP Pro and this will be my first Visa System. I still plan to dual boot Vista/XP anyway, at least for my old printer and scanner that do not have Vista drivers.

Any suggestion?

looks like an insane system. Whats the total estimated cost?

One suggestion though, if you plan to go RAID 5 you may want to look into true hardware raid. (like an adaptec mini-PCI card) I've read the raid performance on the nvidia chipsets are abysmal at raid 5, because it takes so much processing time from the CPU.

From Newegg, it is around 3600$ with the two video cards in SLI.
I may buy one video card only and add the second one later so I'd save $500.
Good point with the raid. I will test the system with the mobo raid and if it is too slow I will go for a card, but I have no idea what card to get.
