I have spoken to my Tmobile dealer and am starting the service on tuesday. I have been out of contract with them for two years. One minor issue was that I have 5 phones on the family plan. Tmobile does not have a way to bill for 6 numbers (@Home being the 6th). I moved the cell phone in my Family Plan using the least amount of minutes to a prepaid plan. This will cost me approx. $80 more per year, however I will save $60 a month by dropping AT&T so it is worth it.
I keep my current AT&T home phone number that I've had for 25 years. It takes 2-3 days to switch over.
As someone stated earlier it is unlimited local and nationwide calling for $10 a month. Faxing does not work on the system.
The router has a separate band range for the voice side. This way the computer side does not get encroached on.
You have to sign a two year contract with a $35 activation fee. The activation fee is the same as adding a new cell number to a contract so I don't think that is unusual.
Because I have to lock in for two years I am also upgrading the four remaining phones on the Family Plan and extending that service for two years.
I have had Tmobile service for approx 10 years and have been happy with the service in my area and on cross country trips.
Really looking forward to a few more reviews of the new service. I checked it out at my local T-Moible store over the weekend and was impressed. We have been with T-Mobile (and Voice Stream before that) for over 12 years. As such, I was hoping to talk the guys at the store into throwing me a bone for being with them so long by comping the router and activation fees, but no dice. Will keep working that angle if all sounds well!

Try calling T-Mobile business sales @ 866-464-8662. It doesn't seem to matter whether you are a business. I added 4 lines in the past 60 days without activation and got a far better deal on handsets than available from other outlets.
I have not tried the fixed @home service but have U/L UMA for 6 cell lines. The UMA call quality is excellent using silence suppression and around 1/2 the bandwidth of my other VoIP providers. The service has some issues. I'm on my 13th month and almost gave up twice, but, T-Mobile is making constant improvements. I think some issues are capacity related caused by their rapid growth. You may want to wait a few months until they adjust to the initial sales. They might offer a rebate to cover the cost of the router.
