Re: Question about ONO - Spain

The Zyxel router is the normal one supplied by Telefonica, you have to connect the computer to it and in internet explorer go to the router setup page (usually »192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1) and replace the TF username and password with the ONO one. Also other settings might be different, have a look on Google for ONO settings and put those into the router using this setup page.

If you want to go back to the USB modem, probably the best thing to do is use System Restore (restaurar sistema) under Start >All Programs > Accessories > System Tools (that is on XP). Restore the computer to how it was before you tried to change anything and the modem should work again.

ONO won't disable your account if you try to use another device, they don't care what device you use if you know what you're doing and can make it work.

Hope that helps

spain

A friend has internet from ONO, it works with a dsl modem. He want to install a router but the modem is conected by USB and has no Ethernet port. So I can't connect the modem to a router (would have been the best solution). He got a router that has dsl modem (Zyxel prestige 600), but no matter how much I tried, I can't conect the router to ONO. I hate DSL conections with ONO. You have to click the "connect to internet" every time you start the computer, so it starts the modem conection (with user and password). I have ONO too at home but it's a cable conection so it's cable modem that has an ethernet port and I could install a cheap 30 € router.
My friend's conection is with username and password. The weird thing is that after trying to conect with the router, after seeing no chance to make it work, I tried to conect back with the adsl modem. But it didn't work! So we called technical service at ONO, and the guy said we must enter username and password with lowercase, not uppercase like before.
The internet prices are ridiculously high in Spain, technical service quite stinks, and now I'm thinking: maybe ONO has some "feature" enabled on the servers so when I conect with another device than their modem, they disable my account. So they make sure I can't conect a router and then I will have to call them to install a router for "only" 120 €. Just can't stop myself thinking about that.

Anyways, if anyone has any sugestion, please do it
Thanks
