Re: What's really killing the land-line phone business - GREED. The most egregious is the $6.50 Central Office Connection Charge which Embarq calls Interstate Access Surcharge, a charge that is not mandated by the government. The total mandated charges are $5.92. The Interstate Access Surcharge is a continuation of the Customer Access Line Charge which the telephone companies will not let go of. |
