Re: AT&T Fiber Cabinet

You assume it would have taken a long time, but perhaps they had spare DDM-2000 OC12 equipment in inventory and could have done it pretty rapidly. Install timelines always depend on how vocal the customer is about getting service established rapidly. Isn't it funny how this whole bay is dedicated to an OC3 terminal?

We where pretty vocal about it from the start. When they came back they said this pop didnt even support ds3's which isnt true. Then they started talking about a capacity issue but wouldnt specify if it was our ring (most likely) or a capacity issue at the POP (upstream link to st.louis or otherwise). We talked to several people and no one could give us an answer. I find it funny that we have all this equipment from att but its only feeding us t1's when it could do so much more.

Either way at least with charter we are getting ethernet handoff (saved us $5k on a ds3 card for the 3845) and it can scale up to and over 100mbit if needed where the ds3 could only do 45mb.

Is the local POP tariffed for DS3? I would assume it is, but we have had an issue before where the local pop was not tarrifed to provide the circuit type we needed. Of course that was OC's
