Side note: I read last night on Verizon's Fios' site that their Fios phone service is like TWC or Cablevision's - VoIP. The only reason I continue to keep an analog phone that isn't a cordless, is in situations like 9-11 or the 2003 blackout. 911 is still a fuzzy technology for VoIP, and cells don't work in situations like that.
The ONT has an 8 hour battery backup.
