Re: pricing

3000/768(No contract) 35.99/month

HA I wish!!! It's more like 1.5mb download and 512k upload, for $44.95 a month... believe me I know, I've been paying the bill for about 3 years now :\

I've been a customer of FairPoint in Maine for over 3 years now and the DSL service they offer is just short of pathetic. Like for instance, today my DSL has been offline for about 6 hours, it comes back online just to have speeds equivalent to dial-up.

This happens at least 3-5 times every week, and it's sad because I pay for their over-priced services just so they can not give me what I'm paying for.

Ever since Fairpoint bought verizons lanlines, it's gotten worse. It was never as bad as it was but now it's gotten to the point where it's unenjoyable. I'm trying to run a business now online and it's just not possible with FairPoint in Maine.

Sorry about my rant, just needed to get this off my chest and happened to read this article, lol.

They don't list prices on their website.

But...
Fairpoint in Maine:
768/128(No contract) 25.99/month
3000/768(No contract) 35.99/month

TWC in most of Maine:
768/128(No contract) 29.99/month
6000/384(No contract) 42.95/month

GWI- Local Maine Provider:
3000/768(Bundled with phone)29.99/month
5000/1000(Bundled with phone) 35.00/month

Maine, New Hampsire and Vermont are mostly rural.

what do you think of their pricing versus cable. they are high for what you get.
