I agree it's dumb in principle - I'm not going to pay Sprint to improve their coverage to my house using my internet connection, that I'm also already paying for.

BUT why not float it? If a few hundred suckers buy in, good for Sprint. Then as other services come around and (hopeful) competition forces Sprint to make this a free (value-add) extension to their typical plan, then I'll get one.

One place I think Sprint could focus this as a paid option is resort areas where there is little/no coverage. We spent a week on Lake George (upstate NY) and there are lots of areas without coverage, and lots of hotels and other resort-type places. Those could attract customers by installing these services (get your mobile connection here!), and Sprint could get a piece of that pie...
