Re: Gigaset SE567 Wireless Problem

Thanks for the response!

I've done a little poking around on the SE567 and it looks like I can change it to just a dsl-modem by switching port 4 to WLAN mode (and turning off the wireless). I'm not sure this will work so if anyone has a "better recipe" for converting the SE567 to modem only mode please let me know. [Unfortunately, the documentation I have found so far is minimal. Also, Frontier has "customized" this SE567 with their own firmware so options/setup pages reported as available by other SE567/ISP users don't seem to work with my Frontier version.]

If I can succeed with turning the SE567 into a modem only, I will just add a good wireless router to my network and once again be able to connect with the iPAQ 111. Any recommendations for a wireless router?

Thanks again for the response.

You'll want to go to the ISP settings, and click on advanced settings.
Edit the AVC that is already set up on there. Click to the next menu, until you get to the choice for a bridge connection.
I wouldn't change any other settings on the menus, except to change it over to a bridge.
That is what worked for me.

Thanks for the Info.

I noted that there were two "bridge" choices:

"Bridge only"

"with PPPoE Bridge"

I assume "Bridge only" is the correct one?

Yes, that is the one that I chose and it worked fine for me.
