By chance did you restart Firefox or your computer after installing the font? Fonts tend to not display in applications until they are first launched, and if that doesn't work then a system reboot should do the trick.

@verizon.net		 I just downloaded a font that I like, and it's NOT in the font list for firefox, so how can I install and use this font?
