Re: Upgrades The migration is almost completed.
We are waiting for our new peer announce our new subnets. |
|
 | reply to asif9t9 Migration was completed around 11am.
Everything is back to normal.
All exchanges now pass through our new facility/peering.
Rejoice. |

 | This morning at 7 and 12 hours later, speedtest.net shows that the best location for me to test from is Kansas. It has always been Toronto prior to the outage. Download speed looks close to normal, but upload is 300-400ms when it's usually 600? Why Kansas all of a sudden, Dorothy? |

My speeds are back to normal as well. The only weird thing is that my IP is now in the 98.124.x.x range which points to be from the States.
Not that I'm complaining or anything. I don't mind either way. |

Quake110Premium join:2003-12-20 Ottawa, ON | reply to velcomrob I see a lot of things have changed. The routes are completely different.
The thing is, a lot of routes which passed only in Canada "Teleglobe" have to travel all over the states and then return to Canada. Is it because gblx doesn't have Canadian paths? Because playing a game with a teksavvy friend with a ping of ~70 ms is a bit extreme considering we live in Ottawa.
Also, my IP isn't static anymore. |
|
 | reply to asif9t9 hmm i'll have to ask our peer about that
there should definitely be local paths
also on the radius side nothing change you should still have static.
shoot me an email and ill check it out for you rob(@)velcom.com |

 | reply to McGusto4 Yep, shows that I'm in Kansas too. Speed is the same as before the upgrade.
I wonder if I can watch streaming video from the US sites? |

Reimer join:2006-08-14 Toronto, ON | reply to asif9t9 Any word on the US IP ranges? It's almost September and I still seem to be receiving IPs that point to Denver, Colorado.
I don't actually mind this at all. I'm just wondering how much longer this will last. |

Don't really mind though. |

 | reply to asif9t9 Anyone been having throughput issues this weekend? Starting last night my throughput plummeted and now I'm getting packet loss on a variety of ping tests... I've been on hold to Velcom tech support for over an hour... |

 | reply to velcomrob Are US IPs still being assigned? Anyway to get one? I can no longer watch the US channels now |

 | said by countaltec:Are US IPs still being assigned? Anyway to get one? I can no longer watch the US channels now YEah.. me neither... Can we get US IPs again? |
|
r5a join:2006-02-05 Toronto, ON | They are. I am on one right now. I have 4 accounts with them, soon to be 5. It seems it's getting assigned randomly. Sometimes I get them and sometimes I don't.
BTW. I havn't been getting hit by Bells throttle either. Proof ^ |
