The VOD content they have control over, the TV content they don't..... We'll have to wait till TV stations actually transmit in 1080p before we see that.

WRONG.

I have the DishNetwork HD-only package for $29.99/mo + Cinemax HD (5 channels) for $0.01/mo, and DVR for $5/mo + locals in HD for $5/mo - total comes to about $45/mo with taxes. And this 'deal' sticks for the next 2 years.

No way Comcast (the cable company where I live) can beat that. The nearest package they have will cost me close to a $100/mo. And to include that they dont even have a HD-only package - I dont watch SD at all anymore.

Cable is WAY MORE EXPENSIVE.

Hmm for me to get tv from dish network it would cost me over 100 bucks a month just like comcast. I have 4 tv's and two of them are hooked up to dvrs Dont really care about movie channels because they suck too. But for me to hook up 4 tv's not all hd just 2 it would cost me over 100 bucks I went to the website and checked.

Don't make generic comments based off your one example of yourself - TW cable in my area has ALWAYS been about $20 more than sat and in most places cable is more expensive and generally has more price increases that sat.

dish makes you pay more a month for each box after the first one. Then direct TV and some cable systems.
