| 2wire 2701 wireless dsl modem
I know this subject has be discussed before but I have not seen a clear answer to my question.
My situation is that the ATT 2wire 2701 wireless dsl modem does not provide needed range regardless of placement or output power setting.
My linksys wrt54gs wireless router provides coverage I need and works well with very old Westell DSL modem. That modem however does not support recent higher DSL speeds and I was supplied with the above 2 wire device by ATT.
What I want to do is set up the 2wire device so it simply acts like a dsl modem with the linksys router providing wireless service to my home. How do I set this up? It is not at all clear from the 2wire Manual or web site. In fact it appears that when in the 2wire setup menu if you choose "disable wireless" that actually enables internal wireless on the 2wire and disables external wireless devices.
Anyone out there with experience setting up the 2wire 2701 as a simple dsl modem with wireless functin turned off?
Thanks for any help you can give.

@sbcglobal.net | reply to Howard5 Thanks for the link. That seems to help me get back out of bridging mode. How do I get into bridging mode? That seems to be what I need.

| reply to Howard5 Great. That is what I was looking for. I am embarrassed because I think I might have found that in the 132 page manual if I knew what to look for. I am reasonably competent around winpcs but the available options on this 2 wire device had me lost.
Thanks again Howard |
