Re: par for the course

I know this post was tongue in cheek, but this legislative result is not surprising. Colleges have knowingly permitted their networkes to be used for wholesale copyright infringement for years, and have refused to do any self-policing. If you don't clean up your own house, and continue to permit illegal activity that a multibillion dollar business says is hurting the bottom line, you're gonna get stomped on by the government. Not only can the entertainment industry afford plenty of lobbyists, it is one of the few industries than contributes a positive export cash flow; i.e., they've got lots of friends in D.C.

Yea, lots of posters here want to do whatever they want online, and rationalize that they're only hurting "greedy" corporations. Well, those corporations send alot of money to D.C., and when was the last time you sent a check to the EFF?
