Nice map....

It's pretty cool to see how many users in a particular area are using Wi-Fi, but if they've transfered 13TB of data already, the network must be holding up.

32 TB over 100,000 people isn't that much. I download over 1 TB a month sometimes on my residential connection

And what happens when the ISPs start using caps? Your profligate downloading will start costing you real money.

And will people be willing to offer bandwidth to strangers if it will push them over the caps and cost them extra money? That is the potential weakness in this Meraki network.

P.S. Sharing the bandwidth is legal because Meraki only deals with people whose ISP allows sharing:
Is this legal?

Absolutely! Free the Net works with service providers that allow the sharing of broadband access.

Chances are he uses TWC in WI. Maybe their Network Abuse Team would like to know who he is

I would assume they already have extensive bandwidth monitoring tools for all of their subscribers.

If they had a problem with me, I would know about it.

But how long will it continue when ISPs get wise to the fact that users are letting others share their connections?

It's a business model built on top of stolen bandwidth, so that doesn't seem real sustainable.

TWC doesnt monitor that but RR does Seperate TOS and AUP. RR can kill your connection without TWC's end knowing anything about it

But i'm sure nobody has complained yet either

If you don't mind me asking, what exactly do you download that eats up 33 GB a day? That's like sustaining 400 KB/s 24/7
