What is the cable modem's IP address?I tried hard to look for it but i can't find it anywhere. Does anybody know how to or what it is?
Oh and if I ping my modem without downloading or any other activity, I should be getting less than 10ms rite? |

Your modem doesn't have an IP address, your computer does. Open a command prompt and type 'ipconfig' and it will give you your address. To ping your network card type 'ping 127.0.0.1' This is just a loopback, so there really is no delay.
If you have a router, you need your public IP which you can get easily by going to whatismyipaddress.com |

Erm there is no address of the cable modem? then what's this? » homepage.ntlworld.com/ro ··· tml#cmipI am trying to see if I can run ping tests on my cable modem. |

you cant run ping test from/on your modem.
Shaw disables the ability to connect to the modem once its online (4 green lights). although while it is locking in you can connect to it with the IP of 192.168.100.1 but that doesn't get you much you can look at the logs and some other basic stats pages but you don't have access to any tools or settings, and once the modem locks in yu get disconnected from that IP |

That's right, forgot about that, you just have to unhook the coax so it goes into downstream hunt mode. |
