I was pointing at the fact that they're setting the speed limits higher than advertised to reach the advertised rates, at least downstream.  6M service is, in fact, 7000k.  In the numbers I provided, sync and tx rates down are the same because they're below 7000.  Upstream is being capped to 512k.]]></description>

I often wondered how they managed real-world 6Mbps performance given all the overhead of DSL (PPPoE + the network being ATM.)  When I attached the line to something a lot smarter than a Westell 2100, the sync rate was over 7000 with the ubr specified to 7000.<br><br>Current stats:<br>[down]<br>adslAtucCurrAttainableRate[20] = 6880000 bps<br>adslAtucChanCurrTxRate[20] = 6880000 bps<br>[up]<br>adslAturCurrAttainableRate[20] = 898000 bps<br>adslAturChanCurrTxRate[20] = 512000 bps]]></description>

<description><![CDATA[<A HREF="/useremail/u/1527242"><b>Sarentack</b></A> : Well this is a post for another day regarding billing issues when you got standalone service with at&t, but it was cut out for a day then when it was reconnected the 6 MBPS went to a 7.<br><br>Truly my download speed would indicate it to be about 6.1-6.2 MBPS connection, then when it was reconnected it was about 6.8-6.9 MBPS which tells me its now a 7 MBPS connection service, anyone else see this with Extreme 6?]]></description>
