1 edit | [Connectivity] modem activation problems
can't seem to get my modem activated with Comcast. I switched out modems this weekend in an attempt for faster speeds, well the "new" modem activated with no problem using the online activation process. Then when I found it's speed to be less than desirable I reconnected my old modem. This time the online activation process failed, miserably, and has not worked since Saturday.
I called Sunday afternoon and they opened a ticket (apparently) and said the modem would be added to the system within 24 hours, if I got the "Welcome to comcast" activation screen to call back and they would "push it through".
24 hours goes by and still only receive the activation screens but if I click Accept then I receive a "Error - 601 Account not found in GDS". Tonight I call back and they say there is an issue on the Comcast end and the network engineers would have to resolve -- give them up to 48 hours.
Anyone out there have any advice? This modem has worked normally for months. They are able to "see" my modem when I provide the MAC address but still no activation, only "Welcome to comcast" screens.....HELP!!! |
