Stupid regulations. The company, Citadel Communications I think, has the transmission rights to ABC in those areas. That's why Mediacom could not feed FOX in Des Moines, IA from somewhere else because Sinclair had the exclusive rights in the area.

A lot of people switched and Mediacom was forced to pay more money. Sinclair started it and now all of them will follow. Get ready to pay a lot more for otherwise free programming. I guess that's the price of convenience...
Midcontinent Communications will add the sports channel Big Ten Network to its lineup beginning Aug. 15, the company has announced.

Des Moines and surrounding areas is Mediacom's bread and butter, their largest market.

As I said before KGAN was a small portion of the dispute. Overall there was 22 channel affectin MILLION of subscribers nationwide. Yep. It was a few stations actually. I'm quite ticked. DISH could at least put up an ABC feed from somewhere else couldn't they? While we wait for WOI, etc. to wake up.

Do you have a survey of Mediacom customers that confirms your assertion? I don't have one but I would be very surprised if a majority favors carrying the BTN if there is a price increase.
