@teksavvy.com | 2wire scam
Hi
Beware of sellers selling 2wire modem on kijiji.ca. They are duds and they threaten if request for refund. I am myself a victim of this scam. |

| reply to poks Also replaced my first 2wire from Canada Computers, it went flashing red and wouldn't let me into the interface after ~3 weeks. The replacement has been fine for several months (crosses fingers).
I'm thinking that maybe the firmware somehow got corrupted. I'd normally have tried to fix it, but hey, it was still under warranty! |

Edit: DSLREPORTS doesn't like my math notation -- Cheers! |

That's what our legit defect rate is at for returned modems. -- Disclaimer: If I express an opinion, it is my own opinion, not that of Bell or its related companies. |

I'll try to put a tighter bound on our numbers later today, but the 2Wires do have a higher rate simply because they're refurbished. Your rate might be for new equipment. |

So if I was a reseller, I'd hold to the same truth.
That's just me. -- Cheers! |

This and having to spend time testing are the only reasons we were planning to move away from them some day (2009).
Despite this shortcoming, demand is still there for them and the DSL performance can't be beaten by anything else I've seen. The warranty period is hopefully more than enough to sort out any issues. |

My first one from Canada Computers wouldn't work. It wouldn't sync.
I had it replaced, and it worked perfectly. I've had it a couple of years now but I was looking for a replacement because a couple of times in the last month I've had packet errors even just between the router and the desktop wired to it directly.
I think it may have been a heat issue, because it only happened when the room was quite hot.
Anyways, I ordered one of eBay, and this one doesn't sync either.
