jared0 join:2008-08-02 Fayetteville, AR | cable internet diplexed with dish network sat signal well there it is , anyone know if it can be done
also splitting, or combining in cable tv picture with sat picture thru a diplexer
if u guys know of a place i can find the answers to some of this stuff i would appreciate it, sure would save alot of us some time runnin new wire, when the way it stands now its first come first serve on the preexisting wire in a house, and the cable guy will sometimes unhook sat lines and claim those wires belong to the cable company..... go figure! |
|
 | I believe most diplexers only operate up to about 1000mhz, where most cable modems operate higher than that. I don't think it will work. |

| reply to jared0 It's done all the time. Diplexers separate the satellite frequencies (950-2150MHz) from OTA/cable frequencies (5-862MHz). Make sure that you use diplexers that go down to 5MHz -- cable boxes and cable modems need the return path (5-42MHz). -- CIAO! |

|
 | reply to jared0 egnlsn is correct. just FYI most cable companies will not provide the diplexers. You will need 2 one to combine and one to separate the signal for the modem and the SAT rec. |

jared0 join:2008-08-02 Fayetteville, AR | reply to jared0 well actually guys ive not been able to get it to work on my own tried many times with no luck , however ive been able to do some other interesting stuff with diplexers like running picture outside on one sat signal line and throwing it into another sat signal line for distribution in that area that the second line runs to.....ive been able to use one diplexer and one splitter to backfeed my remote antenna when it was to far to reach, and im sure that a few more handy things can be done with them............
this is what i would like to know ...what is the frequency of cox cable internet in north west arkansas? any body know that? |

egnlsnPremium join:2003-09-26 Salt Lake City, UT | reply to jared0 Make sure that the diplexers go down to 5MHz on the ANT leg. Many only go down to 40MHz. Gotta have that return path (5-42MHz) for cable modems. -- CIAO! |

jared0 join:2008-08-02 Fayetteville, AR | reply to jared0 where can i find that info?
even better what diplexers in particular are you thinking of? |
