[OC] Asus P5e3 WS Pro

Hello,

With this board I noticed that I can only use its own preset settings to oc. Like right now Im using the N.O.S setting and my cpu is being oc 10% If I go higher my system is unstable. Thing is am I missing something in bios? I looked and read other threads there where than can Manually go up in increments of 1 for the fsb and multipliers. I can't seem to do that with this mobo. Also this asus p5e3 ws pro is supposed to be better than an asus p5q-e motherboard right? Im getting about 600 points higher on my futuremark 06 with the p5q-e than mine current p53e.

Basically what Im trying to get out of this cpu is too be able to oc to atleast 4ghz on air. Please help me achieve that goal =D, thank you.

Current comp specs:

e8400 / arctic cool freezer 7 hs
asus p5e3 ws pro
ocz 2gb ddr3 1333
msi gx280
wd 80gb 7200rpm hd
ocz 600watt psu

No, you don't need an A:\ drive. Download the bios, extract it to a directory and then use AsusUpdate to flash the bios. Reboot (it will be stock settings) and you can change the bios to your heart's content. Be aware that flashing a bios is risky, but I have never bricked a motherboard using the process I described.

Will this work on other mobos, like say 680Is?

Thank you both.

Now i believe i met the limitations for my cpu and I know I can probably do better but I need your guidance. I was able to hit 4.1ghz but the system wasn't stable and I worked my way down to were I am at now with no issues whatsoever. Hopefully we can hit a sweet spot and do better, thanks again.
