Re: Some new features coming w/ IMG 1.6

You mean like watching SouthPark last night on SD STB streaming from MRDVR and SD box completely freezes and doesn't work at all. That is a good bug to fix.

Is Burlington (VHO6) Mass?
Yeah, sorry.
Does this VHO6 also cover RI?

When is remote scheduling(cell phone or through the web) going to be introduced.

That was one of the great features I missed about being with Directv. I know that Tivo also have that feature.

It is listed as one of the features on the Verizon paged linked on page 2.

I would assume that "Pomona CA (VHO3) 8/19" covers all of Southern California? If so, that is great news.

Yes, Pomona is the only VHO in CA.

Any idea if that means that IMG 1.6 is also going to come to Manhattan on 9/9? I just got a HD DVR and a normal HD receiver. If it's only going to be 1 month until I can get HD streaming, then I can wait, but if it's much longer, I need a DVR in my second room as well.

All of NY on 9/9

Woah - Am i clueless or is being able to watch internet videos through media manager a new feature?

Butiful Streamer

@verizon.net

Supposedly, the advance ability to stream any audio and all video content that's on the internet to any television in your houses that is connected to Fiostv is anytime now.
Anything from net radio to clips and even full length movies will be available anywhere that you have a tv hooked to Fios with HMDVR and requiring software for internet and tv hookingup. No extra strung wires across thru houses just internet on tv streaming. BS

Couple more 1.6 related help / new feature pages popped up (on Verizon's 'TV Central' site):

New Enhanced Verizon FiosTV Features:
»www36.verizon.com/fiostv/web/Unp···res.aspx

Help / FAQ (Remote DVR section at end):
»www36.verizon.com/fiostv/web/UnP···elp.aspx

Again ... nothing much more than has already been reported on this site / elsewhere.

Notes (from the above ... as always ... no clue how accurate):
1) Remote DVR only available for customers subscribed to Home Media / Multiroom DVR
2) Remote DVR allows managing scheduled recordings, recordings, favorite channels, parental controls, VOD bookmarks
3) Several of the new features require an 'advance' STB (HD STB, HD DVR, SD DVR) and won't be available on SD STBs.
4) Menu > Help > Self Diagnostics added

Does anyone know if IMG 1.6 enables the ability on the dvr to set a single recording as protected while its recording or when its first scheduled to record? As of right now the IMG only allows for single recordings to be protected after it has finished recording.

Cool! (And now I'm wondering when FiOS on the Go will become available)

Do you subscribe to the MultiRoom / Home Media DVR?

»www36.verizon.com/fiostv/web/UnP···elp.aspx
To run the test you need to go to Main Menu > Help > Self Diagnostics. Against 'FiOS on the go' you should see 'Listener 1 Started' or 'Listener 1 Fail'. If it says 'Fail' then you would need to unplug the power supply to the set top box and plug it back in to restart it. Run the diagnostic test once again. If you see 'Not Applicable' it means you are not eligible for FiOS TV Remote DVR. You need to subscribe to Home Media DVR service.

Aha!

Well, we'll just have to stick with using Orb on my hacked iPhone for live FiOS TV then because we don't have Verizon's DVR.

I can't seem to get anything but 'Not applicable' even though I have the HMDVR and I can't access my stb's from the web site. I have a support ticket into FIOS Tech Support. We'll see where this goes...

I didn't see this posted on here, so I figured I'd include it. If you go to the new FiOS TV Central page:

»www36.verizon.com/fiostv/web/mem···ome.aspx

And log in, you'll see a link to see new FiOS TV features. I went to that link, and while most of the stuff listed isn't anything that hasn't already been talked about on this forum, I did see one item that I found pretty interesting:

"Purchase the Media Manager package and/or Premium channel packages in a flash without having to call us!
You can now add the Media Manager feature to your Home Media DVR or Premium channel packages just by using your remote control. Simply locate Media Manager on the main menu of the Interactive Media Guide (IMG), or tune to the channel package that you would like to subscribe to, and point and click – the IMG will guide you step-by-step to complete your purchase. Get the services you want quickly and easily on your time!"

Now, you can order a premium channel today by this method (without having 1.6), but the idea that you make your DVR into a Home Media DVR with a press of your remote is pretty darn cool.

"Learn about the latest updates to FiosTV" posted in Verizon's on-line help (basically ... just a summary of what's already been posted)

»www22.verizon.com/ResidentialHel···20TV.htm

Couple interesting notes:
1) Not all games can be played on an SD STB
2) Olympics Interactive content will not be available on SD STBs
I am getting the NBC Olympics interactive application on channel 103 (NSNBC) and channel 918 (CNBC) here in Oregon. It is a good way to keep track of the medal counts.

Just curious (I'm not trying to take the place of tech support or anything).

On the web site ... do your STBs show up at all (ie, do you get a list of your STBs ... but they aren't accessable?) ... or do you get nothing / no list?.
