Re: Some new features coming w/ IMG 1.6

On the upside, I have just confirmed that you can change the Video Format in the Menu>>Settings>>Video Settings to your heart's desire and it does NOT effect the "hidden" SD Override setting.

And using the SD Override in the Menu>>Settings>>Video Settings works perfectly in that if you go to the "hidden" settings, the SD Override there matches what you set via the IMG.

Not sure if this had been reported/confirmed yet and I've been meaning to take a look at it anyhow so there you have it

When I had Directv and had their DVR it was the same way. You could not do a reminder on the DVR.

Ridiculous....why would I choose a cheaper box...

I record A LOT of programs. I prefer HD programming. And I have only 1 TV. And recording space (as we all seem to agree on these forums) is at a premium. So .... why would I want to waste precious recording space on.. let's say..a new program coming up in 3 days time -- BEFORE I HAVE EVEN determined if it is worth taking up space on the DVR hard drive....

My old cable provider had this option -- I doubt it can be hard to do.....since FiOS claims to be so cutting edge....surely they can give us such a basic function....

My last post on the matter.....kind regards.

It seems that even with the economy like it is, big-screen TVs are a hot seller. And, people are buying, or upgrading to, the biggest they can afford. Audio systems with surround sound are also hot.

So, I was a bit suprised to see, on my homepage, a link to a story on MSN Money »articles.moneycentral.msn.com/In···gTv.aspx that claims that 80,000,000 people have watched a TV show online.

Now, providers like Amazon.com will be offering immidiate streaming access to 40,000+ movies and TV shows. And, more and more, people are wishing they could watch such content on the 50 in. set they paid so much for, rather than their 19 in. PC monitor.

But, several internet-to-PC gadgets MSN reviewed didn't quite cut it= a $300+ box from Sony that only works with certain Sony TVs and a small box that only streams Netflix movies.

And, for many people, their computer is in another room or part of the house, away from their biggest TV. So far, if Verizon gets things working right, they may offer the best solution for many of us. The Multiroom/Home Media DVR is such a good bargain and will be even better when internet-to-TV streaming becomes available.

I also am interested in whether the sports watching issues have been resolved. Does anyone know? It is very difficult to try and watch a sporting event on delay without seeing the current score, ruining the whole purpose fof the DVR. Thanks.

Plus, there's nothing like spending Sunday afternoon visiting relatives, while recording a football game- then, on the way home, you hear the final score on the radio.

But, it's still 8/19... VZ has until 11:59pm today to make this 'schedule.'

"Almost, nearly, possibly, maybe three more HD's by year end."

Watching these so-called schedules can be bad for ones health you know.

It is still 1.5 in Texas this AM, but last night they were doing something with the boxes, the one in our bedroom was flashing and blinking at about 3:00AM, (very nice!). So maybe they were setting something up.
