Members Only - Line Monitoring, Volume 2

I've been meaning to do this for some time, and finally got around to it.

All of the existing groups have been cleaned up. Any user whose monitor was not displaying at all was removed from the group. This either means that the monitor was improperly set up or was turned off - I have no way of knowing the specific circumstances.

Please note: the line monitor is only useful if you leave a computer running 24 x 7. If you don't, then it doesn't make sense to set up a monitor or join a group.

Anyone wishing to join a group (Line Monitoring is Free if you join) simply reply to this thread as follows:
*Sign*
your username
name of group you wish to join

AVAILABLE GROUPS:
NY/NJ Metro
TEXAS
OHIO
SO. CAL.
TRIAD (the Carolinas)
FLORIDA
PHILAdelphia
NY_Upstate

Short version of how to set it up to appear in the group will appear in a following post.

Setting up the Line Monitor and joining the group

Set up your line monitor as described in the Forum Faq located
here.

If you choose to use the DeeEnEss client, here are a couple of tips:
Select dslreports.com from the drop down 'SERVER' list.
The HOST NAME it needs is not your BBR user account id, but the account number of the monitor once you've got it set up.
Then enter your DSLR Username and password. That should be all it takes.

Once all of that is done,
Go to your PROFILE+ page -> »/prefs/flair
Select "My Home Connection" from the dropdown list and hit the "GO" button. Add some information. Mine looks like this:

You should get a notification that you've been invited to the group you asked about - accept the invitation and you should appear in the list of users at the top of the page.
Please note that it will take some time for the information to begin populating.

Folks - we know you want to join a RoadRunner group.

I've amended the original post to list the groups available.

Also - please note that this is only useful if you leave a computer running 24 x 7. If you don't, there's really no point in setting up a monitor and joining a group.

The two posters above have been invited to the FLORIDA and SOCAL groups, respectively.

Roadrunner is a forum not a monitoring group. See the original post for a list of available groups.
