How much would MLPPP cost me?

Right now I subscribe to 1 Premium DSL line and that is 32 dollars per month. I am from Mississauga, how much would it cost me to run MLPPP?

For single link MLPPP - it would cost you $40 (cost of a WRT54GL)
For dual link its
$30 (current line)
$30 (second line)
$10 (dry loop)
Or $70/month.
using group rates/referrals, you can bring it down to like $64/month
+extra modem + WRT54GL

Single Link:
Free if you do it from windows or linux (I actually have no clue if it's possible from mac, I don't think it's ever come up).
50$ depending on if you want to do it from router level, if you don't have a WRT54GL

Multi-Link:
32$ for another line
40-50$ for another modem
then factor in same costs above

so anywhere from nothing to around $125 plus increased monthly charge.

$29.95 - Line
$7.25 - Dry loop fee (example)
$-3.00 - Group discount/prepayment
Subtotal: $34.20

So it will cost you as little as an additional $34.20/mth before tax (you'd have to pay whatever tax you have in Ontario on top of GST) for a second line.

Oh I never realized I could do single line MLPPP, will definitely try that first.
Any good place to get cheap WRT54GL's?

You can do single-link MLPPP without a router as well. Search the forum.

You can do it on a computer by computer basis, as long as you don't have a static IP.

Steps (in the DSL modem+router case):
- Your DSL modem should already be in bridge mode.
- Your router should already be configured to connect to the internet, using PPPoE.
- Plug your DSL modem into your router such that internal computers can see it. This usually involves connecting it to a LAN port and connecting the router's WAN port to another LAN port.
- Set up each computer you want unthrottled to have it's own PPPoE internet connection, with MLPPP. Since you can have multiple connections simultaneously, there's no interference.

Drawbacks:
- You have to configure each computer individually for it to be unthrottled.
- If your router does QoS, that will no longer work.
