| Bell believes that re-branding will save the day...
I had to laugh when I saw the following in the Globe this morning:
We all know that Bell has NO idea what "customer- focused" really means.
With Frank and Gordon dispatched back to the wilderness last week, BCE Inc. is launching a new marketing campaign Friday to replace the animated beavers.
With the tag lines La vie est Bell in Quebec and Today just got better in the rest of the country, Canada's largest phone company hopes to reposition itself against formidable competitors in the wireless, TV, Internet and land line communications market.
The new Bell brand underlines that we are moving forward as a company and as a service provider, with new services, a new strategy and a new goal, George Cope, president and chief executive officer of BCE and Bell Canada, said in a news release. It's a straightforward and customer-focused brand that directly supports the Bell team's goal: To be recognized by customers as Canada's leading communications company.

Let's play a game. Describe Bell using words ending with "er".
(That's what all those er Ads are all about, if you've seen them recently)

I don't speak French very well, but I think LG might have something to say about this...

Perhaps someone could remind me if it really is a play on words to make "Life is good". |

1 edit | reply to Gokuu "ER"..... LOL
I can hear it now:
Customer: "Why am I getting billed for bandwidth overages? I purchased the unlimited package!"
Bell: ER.... No, you didn't. We don't offer it."
Customer: "But the Bell sales person said that you offer it when I signed the %@*# contract!
Bell: ER.... No, we don't."
Customer: "Then I want to cancel my service!!"
Bell: ER.... No, you can't. Read the fine print of your contract."
Customer: "EERRRR!!!!" |

1 edit | reply to shepd said by shepd :"La vie est Bell" I don't speak French very well, but I think LG might have something to say about this... LG's slogan in French is "LG est merveilleux." The word "belle" in French means beautiful, while "merveilleux" means wonderful. There is a difference. You can put lipstick on a pigbeaver to make it look beautiful but you cannot make it wonderful
Also beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Evidently OTPP sees something beautiful in Bell. After all they have placed a $35B bet on that beaverpig. |

| reply to shepd said by shepd :"La vie est Bell"... It just occurred to me that it could also be a reference to "la Bell(e) province." |
