 | If you ban them on planes, do you also ban them on trains and buses? How about in restaurants, or the mall... where does it end?
I say let people use their phones where ever they want to. I'll just turn up the volume on my MP3 player. -- I walk upon this Earth by the power of my own two legs. |

Oh good! then I'll have yakkers in front a behind me, you next to me tapping, and singing to "yourself", leaking high pitch earphone noise........everyone playong the "I can be less considerate than you" game. Maybe I'll bring a boombox or better yet a megaphone, just to see if everyone can hear me now. already people rudely yak on their phones in theaters, resturant, even in churches. (or so I've read.) The total self envolvement with their "private" phone call, aparently shorts out the few remaining braincells in some peoples heads, and it would only take one or 2 to make flights more miserable than the already are, worse it could be come dangerous when arguements break out. |

I'd have no problems with seeing them banned on trains, buses, restaurants or in the mall either. If you're life is that important you can't get the phone out of your throat for 10mins, go do that stuff instead...like...visit that person! Or having your sorry ass shoved to a 'cell phone zone' would be even better.
I have no problems if you're an actual professional that needs to be in contact for real emergencies. But the 25mins of inane yapping, of the one sided conversation of who's sex life is going to shit...I don't need to hear while I'm sitting at the airport, or train station. The number of inconsiderate jerks around is astoundingly high these days. -- The Art of War "Excessive law is no law." - Cicero |

fiberguyMy views are my own.Premium join:2005-05-20 kudos:3 | reply to hopeflicker ... and again, we're talking about a theater where quiet is considered appropriate. People, last time I checked, are still allowed to communicate and talk on a plane, train, or bus. If I'm talking to someone next to me, I'm sure you'd want that banned.. people like you don't get it.. if you put the phone next to you, it's no different.. the issue isn't about phones, it's about conversation..
Guess what.. here's the reality.. if you can't handle hearing someone talk to someone else, then DON'T FLY! It IS ASSUMED that you will be sitting with in an inch of someone else. If you can't control your own attitude, you should not be on an airplane. |
