WoWJunkie : I have been having trouble with my internet and television in Beckley but that is most likely separate from the issue that has been happening lately. You are running speedtests and I know that is what most people here do when they are seeing a performance reduction however the true problem is that you are experiencing packet loss that is causing the speed reduction. I have been having the same problem here in Beckley the last couple weeks in particular. The packet loss is causing your modem to resend/receive the data to a point of inefficient and it reflects in your bandwidth. The problem was solely in .bssr.suddenlink.net router in Shreveport LA but lately its across the whole route. Try raiding or pvping in WOW with 4000 ms latency.

XEvilWyvernX : heres a funny tidbit of information.
Ive suspected suddenlinks wv speedtest site is somewhat innacurate. And them claiming that its to test withing their network. So I performed a test
While downloading a file at 10mb I ran the speedtest simultaniously. heres whats funny
How am i getting 16MB on a speedtest when im already downloading at 12mb LOL.
Is this the fault of crap software or some tweaking to make things appear faster than they are

Well unless they mysteriously bypasssed my callerid Ill chalk that one up to lazyness great another day off work monday for a problem there probably not even going to fix. Im beginning to think they should rename the isp to SuddenStink because thats becoming my opinion very quickly

longgone : Pretty much the same erratic Download fluctuations here too, which I've experienced most of the time for months, especially during peak usage Hours, but it is worse this week, but it always becomes a very stable 12Mb for just a few hours in the early AM hours. Please inform how it goes with the Tech. Good Luck. :)

XEvilWyvernX : For an entire week my download speeds have fluctuated from 1MB to 20Mb well it said 20 on suddenlink speedtest site but in reality on any other speedtest site its was 12 but most of the week has been between 2-4. I called them up went through the usual bs like I always do as they treat the consumer like a total idiot. Sending out there tech to tell me what I already knew everything fine here at the house after all its a brand new line straight from the pole to the modem and a new modem thats worked fine since i got the 12MB service well the tech actually admits theres a problem somewhere on there end most likely in charleston. And he would speak to someone. haha sure he did speeds never changed still same issues

so I call up again oh gee there sending a tech out again to verify its always funny it always works when they get here but changes when they leave. Anyone else with 12M in parkersburg been checking there speeds lately. Ive looked on the suddenlink speedtest database when im having issues and see lots of other tests being ran with similiar speeds you can usually tell whos on the 12mb by the upload which remains constant but the download is anyones guess
