 How does the softphone work? As in what protocol?

Looking into getting callvantage and saw the softphone option is $5 cheaper.
I have a couple old (unlocked) TA's from another voip company and was wondering if I could use them.

Does callvantage use SIP or something else funky?

I had sunrocket before and that is where the TA's are from if that helps.

Apex, NC		 I'm pretty sure it uses SIP, but the SIP login and password are encrypted in a license key that ATT provides when you purchase the service. They are not BYOD-friendly.
