I will also ask him about thermal paste.<br><br>If you folks can give me a link on how to open a laptop up that would be great, I am a noob with laptops.<br><br>The good news is that if it needs a new fan/heat sink he will not charge me for labor and he will even let me buy the fan from some where else (I already found one on Ebay) and he will install. <br><br>I am just so pissed  for not doing this myself, but now I know and knowing is half the battle. I mean $70 (non refundable) just to take a can of compressed air and spray!!! Arrgghh.]]></description>

<description><![CDATA[<A HREF="/useremail/u/884159"><b>peggypwr1</b></A> : I have a Compaq Presario 2100 Laptop. For the past 4 weeks it shuts down by itself. I took it to Fry's Electronics, they took it apart and found lots of dust, so I assumed it was a heat issue. I took the laptop home and turned it on. After 20 mintues the screen went blank, the laptop was still running, but I had to shut down.
