reply to swintec normally with a buyout or merger the new company has to honor those contracts of the customers under the old company.
The same will happen with Alltel if their merger is approved with VZ. VZ will have to honor the contracted customers but NOT the prepaid. So you can get the Prepaid system will be replaced within months after the merger if not within several weeks of it.
