| here's why the gov't won't allow a merger
Hmm, Big problem with a merger is that there isn't a ''level playing field'' in terms of competition across all area's.
example is this : Where I live, I have access to no less than 5 providers. I have Fios, Bright House and Comcast in front of my house....plus of course access to Directv and dish.
There are area's ....in this same county that don't even have one landline provider, that means the only options are dish or Direct. There are many many household across the country that are in the same situation.....all highly rural area's.
so.....for the sake of those households.....the gov't won't let the only 2 options become one.
personally.....I support a merger.....but that's my analysis of the way the gov't would view it.
